A single-commit snapshot of better-remote (7a8c4cb plus the uncommitted remote.js work), with every DRM-bearing piece replaced by a stub that keeps the same interface: - src/ui/drm.js: no DRM pipelines; needsDrm/isDrmUrl false, bestEncryptedTranscoding null, playDrmAudio rejects. The engine switcher and drmVjs* helpers stay as no-ops. - src/electron/drm.ts: initCdm/setupLicenseCors no-ops; the drm:license and api:stream:drm-info IPC handlers reject with "DRM is not available". - src/api/soundcloud.ts: resolveEncryptedStream keeps its signature, rejects. - src/electron/main.ts: license host dropped from the header rewrite. - src/ui/pb-lease.js: the expiry self-check uses a placeholder URL instead of a captured DRM manifest URL (same policy values, still passes). - scripts/vmp-sign.js, forge.config.js vmpSign: Widevine signing skipped, so no castLabs EVS account is needed to run or package. - README: says DRM is stubbed here. Go+ tracks SoundCloud only serves encrypted are unplayable and skipped; previews and everything else play as before. No history: the private branches' DRM code is not reachable from this commit. CrossSound - Computer
What is it?
A cross platform for SoundCloud using their APIs. It uses V1 and V2.
How to use it
Upon opening the program, it'll ask you if you want to use your OAUTH token. If you don't know how, that's fine. Just log into the application (RedLintu16's wearOS Application). That's the V1 API. For V2, there's a helpful script that says "How to get these?" V2 is not strictly necessary, but it does leave out a bunch without it. For one, no Discovery, no likes, no feed, nothing like that. So it's good to have.
DRM?
DRM: Not in this branch. The DRM code is replaced by stubs (src/ui/drm.js, src/electron/drm.ts), so
Go+ tracks that SoundCloud only serves encrypted won't play; everything else does.
SoundCloud GO+:
SoundCloud GO+: Detected, but full Go+ tracks need the DRM this branch leaves out (previews still play).
Features
Discord Rich Presence Custom themes Notifications Hot key support Tuneshine Tor
How to mess with it
Needed
- Node.JS 24 or newer
- Python 3.14 or newer
- Clone this repository
- (No CastLabs EVS account needed on this branch: there is no Widevine to sign.)
- Go into the cloned repository
- Do npm install
- Do npm run start
- Have fun messing around!
This still a work in progress
This is a work in progress, but I feel like it's in somewhat decent state for a computer right now.
Notes:
This is written in JavaScrtip, HTML, and CSS. The Android version and the iOS version is written in Flutter and their respective languages for each operating system (Kotlin and Java for Android and Swift for iOS)
RedLintu16 - Enjoy!
